The Vision:
Impact Hub London set out to create more than just a place where people go to work—it envisioned a thriving ecosystem for change-makers in the heart of the city. The goal was to design an inclusive, sustainable space where non-profits, social entrepreneurs, and businesses could collaborate in an environment that prioritises ‘entrepreneurial action that benefits people and the planet’.
As a fellow B Corp, our mission was to help bring it to life by creating a space that beautifully combines sustainability, functionality, and community.
The Challenge:
Transforming the vision into reality required carefully sourced furniture that was functional, accessible and aesthetically pleasing with a low carbon impact.
From open coworking areas to private offices and event spaces, the project demanded seamless coordination between the Impact Hub, property developer British Land, design practice Feix&Merlin and the team at Elevate.
Our Approach
To create a space that embodied Impact Hub’s mission, we worked alongside Feix & Merlin to furnish the interiors with sustainability and flexibility at the forefront.
Key elements of the approach included:
- Eco-conscious materials: Incorporating reclaimed harwood pieces and worktops made from recycled clothing.
- Community-centric design: A circular relaxation island, bookable meeting rooms, informal collaboration spaces, and a tiered seating area to encourage connection and knowledge exchange.
- Versatile functionality: Flexible coworking areas, private offices, phone booths, and event spaces that cater to a range of working styles and activities.
The result
Impact Hub London Euston has become a vibrant, inclusive workspace that’s as functional as it is inspiring. It is a fully sustainable and accessible workspace, rated BREEAM Excellent, that is now home to some of London’s most exciting social entrepreneurs and growing impact teams.
Impact highlights:
- Sustainability in action: Natural materials and reclaimed furnishings reflect the Hub’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
- Community-first design: Open coworking spaces, a library, and an in-house bar foster collaboration and creativity.
- A hub for impact: The space is now a home for non-profits, entrepreneurs, and local businesses working together to address global challenges.
A Space with Ripple Effects
The space has become a catalyst for meaningful connections and collective action, and we’re proud to have played our role in helping Impact Hub on its mission to create positive change in London and beyond.
